Meet Natalee Gent

Registered Dietitian Nutritionist

Hey there, I’m Natalee!

I’m here to help take the stress out of meal time and bring back enjoyment!

As a pediatric registered dietitian, I’m here to help you give your baby a safe start to solid foods through baby-led weaning. My goal is to help give you the confidence and knowledge you need to offer a wide variety of flavors and textures and set your child up to be an intuitive eater. Picky eating is another passion of mine. As a parent, I understand how frustrating it can be when your child only has select foods they will eat. I'm here to help create a plan that is suitable for your family and make meals more enjoyable.

I started The Realistic RD to help empower parents feeding their littles with realistic nutrition advice. In my free time, you can find me outside playing with my kids, trying a new recipe (I love to bake) or enjoying a nice long walk. I'm a mom so I get it. I do my best to get a balanced meal on the table. But let's be honest, some nights it may be frozen pizza and that’s okay too.

When you work with me, I will be your coach and accountability partner as you navigate this feeding journey with your family. I'm passionate about creating intuitive and adventurous eaters from the start.

Ready for some help? I can't wait to meet you!

Areas of Expertise

  • Baby-Led Weaning

  • Picky Eating

  • General Nutrition

  • Diabetes

  • Pre-Diabetes

Why the mix of specialties? Here at The Realistic RD, I believe in the power of nutrition for the whole family. Over the last 5 years of my dietitian career, I have explored different settings and found my passion. After starting out as a clinical dietitian in a large-hospital setting, I shortly transitioned to become a retail dietitian where I could focus on the preventative side of nutrition and health. Here, I held a variety of kids-cooking classes, nutrition store tours and freezer meal workshops. For the past 2.5 years I have been working as a diabetes dietitian helping clients live a balanced life while controlling their blood sugars and keeping their A1c in a safe range. In addition to adult nutrition, I also have a strong passion for infant/toddler feeding. As a mom of two (and background in nutrition), I am determined to help kiddos create a healthy relationship with food while exposing them to a wide variety of flavors and textures.

RD

Significance Behind the Letters

As a registered dietitian, I have a comprehensive understanding of how nutrition affects the body and can help clients achieve optimal health outcomes. Many people confuse a registered dietitian with a nutritionist. Although the two terms are sometimes used interchangeably, a registered dietitian must hold a bachelor’s degree in nutrition or a related field, complete a supervised practice program, and pass a national examination.  At The Realistic RD, I focus on providing personalized nutrition advice that is realistic and specific to your individual goals.
